Pawełki – English
A holiday village with 214 inhabitants. Dariusz Ulman is the current mayor (sołtys). The whole village area lies within the boundaries of the Landscape Park. Pawełki’s points of interest include a historical church of Our Lady of Fatima, a year-round School Youth Hostel that opened in 2007 after a major refurbishment financed by the European Union and was rated as the Best School Youth Hostel in Poland in 2010. There are several agro-tourism businesses in Pawełki.
The village is located in the middle of a large woodland area called ‘The Birch’ (Brzoza) which features natural monuments including a Catawba Rhododendron and reminders of a pond with a unique ecosystem of water and peat bog plants as well as various waterfowl species.
The annual community fair is called ‘The Feast of Blooming Rhododendron’ (Święto kwitnącego różanecznika) and focuses on the unique flora of the area.
